First Christian Church, Miami (est. 1894) is a vibrant, growing Independent Christian Church, averaging more than 500 in two Sunday services. Our mission is simple:

Train the saved. Reach the lost.

The Executive Pastor plays a key leadership role in translating vision into systems, strategy, and sustainable growth. This role focuses on two primary areas: Operations (organizational health) and Advancement (long-term strategic growth).

OPERATIONS – Building Sustainable Health

Organizational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day church operations aligned with mission and culture

  • Translate vision into clear structures and systems

  • Partner on budget oversight and financial stewardship

  • Establish healthy policies, procedures, and rhythms

  • Champion effective database and administrative systems

 

Team Development

  • Support, coach, and develop ministry staff

  • Clarify roles, goals, and evaluation processes

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff care

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and healthy communication

Communication

  • Ensure clear, compelling, and mission-aligned communication

  • Develop proactive communication rhythms and storytelling

 

Facilities

  • Oversee facility stewardship and long-term space planning

ADVANCEMENT – Driving Vision Forward

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and elders to clarify long-term vision

  • Translate vision into measurable goals and actionable plans

  • Track progress and adjust strategy as needed

 

Vision Alignment & Unity

  • Ensure ministries align with mission and values

  • Cultivate trust and unity among staff, elders, and congregation

  • Communicate the “why” behind ministry direction

 

Mobilization & Discipleship

  • Create clear pathways for discipleship and leadership development

  • Remove barriers to engagement

  • Oversee scalable Connect Group strategy

  • Foster a culture where every believer understands and lives out their role in God’s mission

 

Qualifications

  • Baptized disciple of Jesus aligned with Restoration Movement principles

  • 4-year degree required (Bible College Associated with the Restoration Movement preferred)

  • Committed to spiritual growth and ongoing development

 

Reports to the Lead Pastor and Elders.
